Ed Mikoski joined the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) March 2000 as Vice President, Technology Strategy and Standards. He is responsible for conducting, coordinating and administering standards development programs within the Alliance and representing EIA in these industry activities. Prior to joining EIA, he had served over twenty years in sales, applications engineering, marketing and industry standards development roles within the electronics industry.
Mr. Mikoski received his undergraduate degree in Physics from Clark University, Worcester, MA and his MBA from Averett University, Danville, VA. A Navy Veteran, Mikoski served seven years as a US Naval Aviator including deployment as one of the first Navy LAMPS helicopter detachments to Vietnam.
Mr. Mikoski is also Vice President of the Electronic Components, Assemblies & Materials Association (ECA), a Sector Association of the EIA. Since 1985, he has participated in and held numerous committee leadership positions in trade associations and standards development organizations including; EIA, Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), US National Committee to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and served as Chairman of the EIA Engineering Department 1992 to 1995. He is the recipient of the EIA 1993 Engineering Award of Excellence.
Mr. Mikoski is currently Vice President of the Standards Engineering Society (SES), Board Member of the U.S. Electronic Components Certification Board (ECCB), member of Underwriters Laboratories Follow-Up Services Council, the U.S. World Standards Day Planning Committee, Council of the US National Committee to the IEC, and represents the Alliance at numerous activities of the American National Standards Institute.
