In January, 2007 Charles Robinson was elected by the Board of the Electronic Industries Alliance to serve as President and CEO on an interim basis. Robinson has been the Chief Operating Officer of the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) since March 2004. EIA is a partnership of high-tech associations and companies whose mission is to promote the market development and competitiveness of the U.S. high-tech industry through domestic and international policy efforts.

Robinson's COO responsibilities have included all budgetary and operational issues for the Alliance as well as oversight of Communications, Meetings & Conventions, Standards & Technology, Human Resources, Facilities & Building Operations, Strategic Planning and the outsourced functions of MIS and Finance.

For more than twelve years, Robinson has served as the Chief Operating Officer of international associations. For seven years, he was the National Executive Director of the Navy League of the United States in Arlington, Virginia. As the Authorized Manager for The Navy League Building LLC, he was the owner's representative for all aspects of a $56,000,000 headquarters building project, located at 2300 Wilson Boulevard. Robinson also served for three years as the Executive Director of the Tailhook Association, headquartered in San Diego, California. He was also the Chief Administrative Officer of the Tailhook Educational Foundation.

Robinson completed a career in the United States Navy at the rank of Captain. A naval aviator, he has nearly 4,000 flight hours in tactical fighter aircraft and over 850 carrier arrested landings. In addition to numerous command and staff tours his naval career included 175 combat missions in Vietnam.

A native of Columbus, Indiana, Robinson holds a B.S. degree from the Krannert School of Industrial Management at Purdue University, an M.A. degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, and an M.S. degree in Management from Salve Regina University. In 2003 he was inducted into the Purdue University ROTC Hall of Fame.

He resides in Falls Church, Virginia and Juno Beach, Florida with his wife, the former Alice Wilson of Carmel, Indiana. They have two grown children, Mindy and Randy.
