Washington, D.C., November 15, 2006 - Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) President Dave McCurdy issued the following statement in reaction to the Senate confirmation yesterday of EIA 2005-06 Board of Governors Member Donald C. Winter as Secretary of the Navy.
"Donald Winter will bring a wealth of high-tech and defense industry experience to the U.S. Navy as its new Secretary. His work as president of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector and as president and CEO of TRW Systems, coupled with his groundbreaking efforts with one of the leading government incubators of innovation, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, will prove beneficial to the nation as the U.S. continues to refine its naval military capabilities through cutting-edge technologies in the years ahead. EIA commends his nomination by President Bush and his confirmation by the Senate."
