Electronic Industries Alliance Commends President Bush for Signing American Jobs Creation Act

Arlington, Va., Oct. 22, 2004 - The Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) applauds President Bush for signing the American Jobs Creation Act into law today. EIA, the leading advocate in Washington, DC, for the U.S. high-tech industry, believes tax incentives in the bill will help America maintain its leadership in innovation and generate domestic job growth by creating a friendlier business climate in the U.S.

"We appreciate the commitment President Bush and members of Congress from both parties have demonstrated by helping to create a more competitive business environment in the U.S. with this legislation," EIA President Dave McCurdy said. "The American Jobs Creation Act will help U.S. high-tech companies invest in their workers, capital equipment and R&D activities. By signing this legislation today, President Bush is sending a message: the U.S. is intent on meeting the economic challenge of other nations who are creating friendlier climates for doing business by reducing tax rates. This legislation will help the U.S. meet that challenge."
