Electronic Industries Alliance Supports the Senate Republican High Tech Task Force Agenda

The Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) today hailed the newly announced policy platform of the Senate Republican High Tech Task Force (HTTF) as a positive framework for the tech agenda of the 108th Congress. EIA has for some time supported many of the goals announced today, including those provisions aimed at enhancing trade opportunities for U.S. manufacturers, promoting cyber security, securing the Homeland and accelerating broadband deployment to all Americans.

"So many of the areas on which Senator Ensign and the rest of the High Tech Task Force are focusing are critical to our nation's economic growth," said EIA President Dave McCurdy. "We are encouraged by the agenda announced yesterday and are hopeful that Congress will work in a bipartisan fashion to enact these policies. EIA looks forward to working with the leadership to promote sound policies that enable electronics and other high-tech companies to remain competitive."
