Electronic Industries Alliance Encouraged by Swift Reorganization of White House Economic Team
.. Dave McCurdy, president of the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA), today commended President Bush for his move to quickly restructure the White House economic team, beginning with the selection of John Snow as treasury secretary and the expected choice of Stephen Friedman as economic adviser.

“Mr. Snow will bring immeasurable business experience to the White House, as well as strong rapport with leaders in the private sector and on Capitol Hill,” McCurdy said. “Through his work in various capacities during the Ford, George H.W. Bush and Clinton administrations, he has proved he can work in a bipartisan manner, a trait that is particularly important at a time when our government is so narrowly divided.

“We look forward to working with Mr. Snow and his team as they help develop a package of tax cuts and economic stimulus ideas for consumers and businesses. The telecommunications sector in particular has felt the pinch of lower capital investment in the past couple years and is working hard to get back on its feet. I am confident that President Bush, Mr. Snow and others in the Administration will work towards a thoughtful, pro-growth strategy in the best interests of the country.”
