Internet Security Alliance Named Best Suited Partnership for E-Security Information Sharing

ISAlliance logoArlington,

Va. – The Internet Security Alliance (ISAlliance) today announced that it was recommended as a trusted and reliable public-private partnership for information sharing and e-security issues by the World Bank.  The acknowledgement was made in “Electronic Security: Risk Mitigation in Financial Transactions,” a policy publication of the World Bank Financial Sector.

The World Bank report identifies, defines, and discusses seven key pillars needed to develop policies and an overall infrastructure that fosters secure environment for the financial services sector. In its discussion of Pillar IV: Accuracy of Information on E-Security Incidents and Public-Private Sector Cooperation, the Internet Security Alliance is characterized as a forum that demonstrates how cooperation among the sectors results in greater information sharing among law enforcement and private providers of financial services.  The report credits the ISAlliance’s success with its ability to create trust among private sector members that their identities will not be divulged to law enforcement or the public at large when sharing sensitive security-related information.

“The global economy is integrally connected,” said ISAlliance Executive Director Dave McCurdy. “By fostering the exchange of authoritative threat and vulnerability information across industry and international boundaries, the ISAlliance is working diligently to ensure critical business operations, including financial transactions, can be made securely. We can improve electronic security worldwide if we encourage industry to take the lead in sharing critical information and adopting top-down best practices.”
