“Broadband has the potential to be the key enabling information technology of the 21st Century. In order for this technology to reach its true potential, we need technology-neutral policies that foster open competition and allow industry to compete fairly.
“We are encouraged by the leadership shown by Senator Breaux and Senator Nickles in introducing the Broadband Regulatory Parity Act and look forward to working with them to jumpstart the broadband debate.
“The telecommunications sector is suffering dramatically as a result of the broadband stalemate, and less regulation is critical to creating a level playing field for all stakeholders – DSL, cable, satellite, wireless.
“Efforts like the Broadband Regulatory Parity Act are critical to bringing attention to the need for open entry, fair competition and less regulation to the global deployment of broadband.”
